FOR WIND RESISTANCE SERVICEABILITY, SAFETY AND RAIN RESISTANCE
(TESTS CARRIED OUT AT BRE,UK)

Our ventilated wall facade system is tested for Wind resistance serviceability and safety as per CWCT standards. Rain resistance test as per BS EN 12865: 2001.
• The testing of the system was carried out by one of the leading test laboratories for such systems in the world ; BRE,UK.
• The test results satisfy the criteria laid down by the respective codes of practice.

Summary of Test Results for our Rainscreen façade system carried out by BRE having test facility at: BRE- Garston, UK.

The system is available for standard tiles sizes 300mm x 600mm, 600mm x 600 mm, 900mm x 900mm and 1200mm x 600mm.
Non standard tiles also can be cut from standard sizes as per requirement.

The system is available for standard tiles sizes 300mm x 600mm, 600mm x 600 mm, 900mm x 900mm and 1200mm x 600mm.
Non standard tiles also can be cut from standard sizes as per requirement.System Weight: It varies from 25kg/m2 to 30kg/m2 depending on size and thickness of the tiles for regular tiles. For slabs, it varies from 15kg/m2 to 20kg/m2 depending on thickness of slabs. Vertical joints are intentionally air permeable (open), with aluminium section and horizontal visible joints are in pure polyester powder coated Aluminium profiles.

Our vitrified tiles are designed to last, perfectly flat, stain free, abrasion resistant, non porous, intensely vitrified and extremely consistent in terms of color, strength and other properties. Apart from glossy, honed and lapato finish tiles, special rustic finish tiles which resemble the best of natural stones and have a high stain/scratch and skid resistance are also available. The vitrified tiles are color fast, U.V. protected and non-porous as the water absorption is less than 0.05%.

Note: These slabs can be cut into varied sizes as per project requirements

RECOMMENDATIONS / GUIDELINES FOR USAGE OF
‘ALUTILE’ VENTILATED FACADE

The subtract wall to which the cladding is fixed should be plastered with water proofing compound.

The system is to be fixed as per the shop drawing issued by Company & all technical parameters are to be strictly followed including of supports. The installation has to be carried out by company certified/company preferred contractors.

If any insulation which is not non-combustible in places behind the tiles, the maximum height of insulation shall be limited to 18mts. & such material should be of approved class as per norms of fire safety regulations.

The ‘Alutile’ ventilated facade neither provides any contribution to the structural performance of a building, nor does it provide all weather tightness required by the building envelope. The external wall substrate supporting the cladding shall be water proof & provide necessary fire resistance.

Discrepancies, if any, shall be brought to the company's notice before carrying out works at site.

The tiles are generally self-cleaned by rain. However suitable cleaning process should be carried out periodically for aesthetics of the building.

A minimum 38mm wide air space is to be provided behind the back of the tile. Maximum projection of tile beyond face of the building shall be 110mm. Projection beyond 110mm can be achieved through additional framework & cost of the same will be charged extra. The ventilation pathways should always remain clear without obstructions.

The wall which is to be cladded should be minimum 6 inches thick and should be able to resist full design wind load. It should also be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the relevant building regulations and national standards. For the rainscreen façade to act effectively in preventing rain being driven across the substrate, the substrate wall needs to be air-tight.

Fire

The tiles are non-combustible and there should be no limitation of it’s use with respect to its exposed surface area or the distance from the building line or boundary.

The Aluminium profiles have a melting point of 600°C.

The EPDM gaskets used between tiles and metal rails are largely protected by tiles and as they are used in relatively small quantity, the failure of gaskets due to fire is unlikely to significantly affect the overall fire performance of the system.

The performance of ‘Alutile’ ventilated facade cladding system depends on correct installation. It is always advisable to get the system installed through company trained and company preferred contractors. A list of company trained/preferred contractors is available on request.
